About Greg

I explain the fine print, so you can decide with clear eyes.

I've worked independently in insurance and annuities since 2004, helping people near or in retirement protect what they've built and turn it into income they can count on.

Why I do this

The markets can be a great thing. They're not the only thing.

Before financial services, I worked in technology. I rode through the dot-com bust from the inside and saw a lot of financial disruption up close. It made me want to help people become more financially secure.

It changed how I think about money. Growth matters, and the market has its place. When you're getting close to retirement, though, the money you need to live on shouldn't depend on what the market does next year.

That's why I moved into this work in 2004. I help people get through turbulent markets with their retirement intact, and turn what they've built into income they can count on. Many of the people I work with have been with me for ten years or more.

How I work

Most of the people I work with come to me with the same worry: they don't want to lose what they've spent decades building, and they don't want their money sitting still while everything gets more expensive.

I'm independent, which means I'm not tied to one insurance company or one product. I can compare options across carriers, and I can tell you when an annuity isn't the right fit. Sometimes the best advice is to leave your money where it is.

Outside of work

I take my risks on the trail, not with retirement money.

I've been riding mountain bikes since the 80s, with some racing along the way. I'm one of the riders who've had the grit to finish the infamous Dragonslayer, a 90-mile endurance event over some of the most challenging trails in the country. I'm a trail steward for the amazing trails at Mary Moore Searight, and I've led a group at Crank and Drank, our legendary weekly ride, since 2015. I host a podcast about it too, called The Ageless Mountain Biker.

I'm also a Longhorn, a black belt, and a longtime Formula 1 fan. I spent about 10 years as a lead course marshal at the Circuit of the Americas, and a few clients have learned not to get me started on it during a meeting.
